How Do I Succeed in Maintaining a Digital Marketing Plan?
When I decided to start my own company, I immediately prepared a digital marketing plan. However, as the projects started, things hit a snag. Sticking to the plan became difficult. I developed methods to maintain the plan on my own. Of course, everyone has their own methods, but I want to share mine for those who can't find a way out of the intensity:
It's tough to allocate 1 hour per day or half a day per week. That's because you need to work intensively during the week, and as meetings occur throughout the day, there's no time left. However, dedicating one day a week isn’t that hard. Choose a lighter day to produce as much content as you can. The more you write, the more you want to write, and the more ideas multiply.
Publishing content doesn't require creativity. You can choose evening hours for this. If you are the one pulling the website content and preparing the posts, take advantage of the least disruptive times. You can prepare all the content to be posted in the future using schedulers.
If you followed my advice in the second step and used a scheduler, mark those hours in your calendar as well. The news agenda changes rapidly, especially when we receive distressing news, and it occupies all our minds. Calendar alerts can be useful to ensure a cheerful post does not clash with disaster news. Delete any posts that are not suitable for the current agenda before they go live on social media.
If you have a bilingual website or create posts in two languages, turn to artificial intelligence for translations. Website platforms are now coming with AI integration, which translates content automatically into another language without your manual effort. If you're considering changing your website platform soon, make sure to research providers thoroughly.
If you're struggling to come up with ideas, try listening to podcasts related to your work. Put on a work-related podcast while walking during your lunch break, traveling in the car, or cooking dinner. A sentence they say could spark an idea for content.
Make notes visible and use clear titles. I currently have 359 notes in the notes section of my phone. I have lots of notes related to content, but at some point, those 359 notes start to blend together. For this reason, I hang notes related to content ideas on the fridge next to the shopping list. Sometimes the note is very brief, and I forget what I was thinking. To capture the details of the thought, I use the "dictation" feature instead of voice notes because it's much harder to find something in voice notes and I also absolutely hate voice notes (and messages).
If you've managed to find time to shoot video content, shoot the second one immediately because half the time is spent finding the right lighting :P To create a sense of different timing, change your outfit if possible.
